Her work spans from silicon-level optimisation to system-level carbon accounting frameworks.

Dr. Tanaka leads the Efficient Systems Group at the Dolor Sit Institute of Advanced Studies, where she and her team develop practical tools and benchmarks for measuring and reducing AI inference energy consumption. Her group has produced several widely-used open-source tools for carbon-aware AI scheduling, and she is a regular contributor to international standards bodies working on sustainable computing metrics.
